Crucial Training for Board and Supervisory Committee Members
New Board and Supervisory Committee members are often expected to make critical
policy decisions with little training or experience in their new positions. The
Volunteer Leadership Institute-Mainland is designed to quickly bring
new members up to speed by providing foundational training in several crucial areas—including
duties and responsibilities, regulatory requirements, asset and liability management,
risk management and several other topics that must be mastered by both Board Members
and Supervisory Committee members.
2009 marks the second annual Volunteer Leadership Institute-Mainland,
the premiere development opportunity for credit union volunteers. Presented by The Paragon Consulting Group.
The Institute provides the perfect combination of respected speakers, participant
networking and a beautiful location. Participants are rewarded with outstanding
training and invaluable tips from their peers in a stunningly beautiful and relaxing
environment.
Who Should Attend
VLI-Mainland is intended primarily for new credit union Board and Supervisory Committee
members. It is designed to be an intensive orientation for people who are new volunteers
and people eager to learn more about the skills involved in being an effective volunteer
leader.
Institute Structure
Our intent for VLI Mainland is to provide separate learning tracks for Board members
and Supervisory Committee members, and to offer beginning and intermediate programs
within each track. But, like everyone else in this difficult economy, we have had
to make some adjustments to our program for 2009. We will still be offering separate
learning tracks for Board and Supervisory Committee members--but for this year we
have (temporarily) combined the beginning and intermediate tracks within each program.
Please note that many of the topics will be of interest to both Supervisory Committee
members and Board members. Participants are encouraged to "mix and match"
within the two programs and attend any topic of interest.
See the conference agenda
for class options.
