David Grace is the Senior Vice President, Association Services of the World Council of Credit Unions, Inc. (WOCCU) since July 1998. Mr. Grace is responsible for WOCCU’s legislative and regulatory advocacy, educational programs and fundraising. He represents the international credit union movement in discussion with the G20, in the European Union and on the Basel II capital accord. He coordinates the activities of the International Credit Union Regulators’ Network and serves as its secretary. Mr. Grace developed WOCCU’s International Remittance Network (IRnet) and has been deeply involved in remittances briefing members of U.S. Congress, Mexican President, Vicente Fox, advising on legislation in the U.S., writings and been broadly interviewed as an expert on the topic by national and international media. He has guest lectured at Johns Hopkins University, Columbia University and University of Wisconsin. Over the past decade he has given over 100 presentations at financial services conferences.
From 1992 – 1998, he was with the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis managing its financial services and information technology units. In those capacities he worked directly with the President of the St. Louis Federal Reserve in his role as Chair of the Financial Services Policy Committee and Mr. Grace oversaw the FEDNET implementation for the Eighth District.
Mr. Grace holds a M.A. in International Affairs from Washington University in St. Louis; and graduated honors from St. Louis University with a B.S. in Economics and International Business. He has lived and studied in Italy and Spain and is fluent in English and Spanish and has worked in over 50 countries.
