Sarah Cooke
Sarah Snell Cooke, Editor
Credit Union Times
Sarah Snell Cooke has served as editor-in-chief of Credit Union Times since 2008 after being promoted to interim editor in December 2007. These years have produced more news affecting the credit union industry than ever before, from the housing and financial crash to the legislative and regulatory ‘fixes’ for them. Throughout this tumultuous time for financial services and publications, Credit Union Times remained the market leader of independent credit union publications.
Also during her tenure, CUTimes.com and the print magazine have undergone major redesigns for streamlined functionality and to better integrate the product.
Prior to her promotion, Cooke had covered the Washington, D.C. news beat for Credit Union Times since 2000. Before joining the Times’ staff, she wrote for the Credit Union Regulatory Insider newsletter for one year.
Cooke earned her bachelor’s degree with honors in political science and a minor in journalism from McDaniel College (then Western Maryland College) in Westminster, Md.
Cooke is married to John Cooke, and has two small children, Jacob, 8, and Alexandra, 5. She resides in Md. When not writing about credit unions or chasing after her kids, she can be found on the volleyball court.
